Hotel proposed at Pahl Tire site

The Alexander Co. has proposed a new hotel for the corner of East Washington Avenue and Webster Street at the site of the current Pahl Tire Co., which will close in May. The proposal calls for a contemporary 10-story hotel, restaurant, and pub just one block off the Capitol Square. Alexander recently purchased the property from Pahl.

Meanwhile, developer Fred Rouse is hoping to demolish four houses just north of the Pahl site to build apartments on N. Webster Street.

Neighborhood meetings are currently being scheduled to discuss the proposals.
