Hotel Indigo gets Plan Commission okay

A proposal to renovate and repurpose a historic building on East Washington Avenue into a hotel has received unanimous approval from the Madison Plan Commission.

The Hotel Indigo project, devised by developers Curt Brink, John Kothe, and Kevin Page, calls for renovating the 102-year-old building’s five-story, brick-façade, and building a 144-room hotel at the corner of East Washington Avenue and South Paterson Street, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.

The East Washington side would feature a ground-level restaurant. To accommodate their plans, three warehouses and an addition to the structure, once the site of Mautz Paint, would be demolished.
