Historic Atwood building loses tenant, gains new
After six years, Threshold, a community gathering space, is closing its doors while A Room of One’s Own bookstore has signed the lease on the space, according to multiple reports from the Wisconsin State Journal. The 100-year–old building at 2717 Atwood Ave. housed Threshold, where conversation circles, classes, workshops, community meals, weddings, performances, conferences, and art shows were held. Over the years, 10 small businesses also rented or shared space in the building. A Room of One’s Own bookstore is moving from the State Street area to make room for a proposed mixed-use redevelopment by Core Spaces.
