High-rise advances, gas station to come down

Madison’s Urban Design Commission has advanced a plan for a 12-story, 115-unit apartment complex at 617 N. Segoe Road that would replace an existing office building. The commission also approved a plan to replace a gas station and convenience store at Woodman’s Food Market on Gammon Road with new facilities, to the tune of $1.35 million.

Meanwhile, a plan for a six-story mixed-use building on the site of the former Lane’s Bakery at 448 South Park St. was referred back to committee.
