High job loss areas will take longest to recover

According to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, all 72 counties in the state experienced improved jobless rates in September, although several areas are not near pre-pandemic levels.

A report from Wisconsin Public Radio stated areas hardest hit by unemployment include Forest, Jackson, Menominee, Milwaukee, and Iron counties and are expected to take much longer than other areas to recover from job losses due to the pandemic.
