Group health plan deadline extensions to end June 9

M3 Insurance provides a reminder that following President Biden’s April 10 resolution ending the COVID-19 National Emergency and the scheduled end of the Public Health Emergency (PHE) on May 11, group health plan deadline extensions will end June 9 at the conclusion of the “outbreak period.”

Employers are advised to make any required adjustments to their internal practices regarding deadline extensions and should plan for changes to group health plan provisions related to COVID-19 as called for by the PHE. COVID testing and vaccine requirements will end at the conclusion of the PHE.
