Get your calendars out, event season is here

From the pages of In Business magazine.

Each year, the start of February signifies the beginning of event season at IB, and there are a couple of forthcoming events that you should get on your calendar. Maybe this is a bit self-serving but there is no doubt these are two of the best annual business events in the Greater Madison business market because we come together to honor great leaders of all ages.

Executive of the Year Awards: Now in our third year of presenting this awards program, we will recognize and celebrate the leadership of six area executives over the past 12 months, along with one lifetime achievement award winner for an amazing career. You can read more about each of our 2016 honorees in this issue of In Business (page 24) but I would also encourage you to go online and register for this month’s Executive of the Year Awards program, where we’ll honor them in person. In its short history this program has quickly become one of our most popular events, and this year’s ceremony is sure to be even bigger with another exceptional group of executive honorees in a variety of different industries. The awards program starts at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16, in the Capitol Theater at the Overture Center, with a networking reception immediately following the awards ceremony. Time is running out to register, and you can do so at www.IBMadison.com/executiveoftheyear.

IB Introductions, featuring the 2016 40 Under 40 class: It’s hard to believe that we are now in the 16th year of honoring some of the brightest young leaders in the Greater Madison region. We won’t be unveiling this year’s class until next month’s issue of IB, but I can give you a teaser by saying that the young talent in this community gets more impressive each year. The accomplishments of these young professionals, along with the work they’ve done in the community, are truly inspiring. They as well as members of past 40 Under 40 classes will be the special guests of honor at our first IB Introductions networking event in 2016. The reception will be held on Wednesday, March 9, at the Madison Club, and we encourage you to register in advance at www.IBMadison.com/intros

So, there you go — two exceptional groups at two great events over the next two months. Please join us in honoring these very deserving people.
