Free Bikes 4 Kidz in need of more bikes
In the fall of 2022, Free Bikes 4 Kidz collected approximately 1,400 bikes in Dane and Milwaukee counties to refurbish and give to people who either cannot afford to purchase their own bikes or to those who have been historically excluded from the cycling industry. However, a call for applications this month for other charitable organizations or public schools to become distribution partners, has resulted in over 2,500 requests for bikes, meaning more than 1,000 people are at risk of not receiving bikes this year.
Free Bikes 4 Kidz Madison is asking the community for help to reduce this shortage by donating their unused bikes now.
Bicycles can be dropped off at the Free Bikes 4 Kidz Madison workshop, 354 Coyier Lane, Madison, Monday–Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., or they can be dropped off Monday–Wednesday nights between 6–8 p.m. Bikes of all sizes and styles are needed.
