Foundation announces $548,000 in community grants

The Evjue Foundation, the charitable arm of The Capital Times, announced a new round of grants to 38 community organizations totaling $548,000, according to a Capital Times report. Two of the largest recipients are Access Community Health Centers and the Madison Public Market Foundation. The current recipients are: 

  • Access Community Health Centers — $50,000;  
  • AgeBetter Inc. — $5,000;  
  • Aldo Leopold Nature Center — $5,000;  
  • Arts + Literature Laboratory — $15,000; 
  • Boys & Girls Club of Dane County — $15,000 
  • Community Shares of Wisconsin — $10,000; 
  • Dane Dances! — $5,000;
  • Darbo Pantry Project — $10,000;
  • Edgewood College — $20,000;
  • First Tee-South Central Wisconsin — $2,000; 
  • Foundation for Madison’s Public Schools — $10,000; 
  • Free Bikes for Kids — $5,000;
  • Gigi’s Playhouse — $5,000;
  • Girls on the Run — $1,000; 
  • JustDane — $15,000;  
  • Madison Chamber of Commerce Foundation — $11,000; 
  • Madison Children’s Museum — $25,000;
  • Madison College Foundation — $40,000; 
  • Madison Music Collective — $1,000;
  • Madison Opera Inc. — $5,000;
  • Madison Public Market Foundation — $50,000; 
  • Madison Reading Project — $10,000;
  • Mentoring Positives — $5,000; 
  • Northside Planning Council — $5,000; 
  • Porchlight Inc. — $15,000; 
  • Rape Crisis Center — $10,000;
  • RISE Wisconsin — $50,000;
  • Rooted Wisconsin Inc. — $15,000; 
  • RSVP of Dane County — $5,000; 
  • Simpson Street Free Press — $20,000;
  • The Road Home Dane County — $10,000; 
  • Urban Triage — $35,000; 
  • Vera Court Neighborhood Center — $15,000; 
  • Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra — $12,000; 
  • Wisconsin Council for the Blind — $1,000;  
  • Wisconsin Institute of Youth Journalism — $5,000;
  • Women’s Medical Fund — $15,000; and
  • YMCA of Dane County — $15,000.
