Focused on men’s health
Tomorrow’s Hope, a local nonprofit, hosted its 2nd annual Men’s Health Golf Outing at The Oaks golf course in Cottage Grove on Sept. 12. With a focus on men’s health, this event incorporated basic golf and educational challenges in support of a new program by Tomorrow’s Hope to create a general awareness and educational campaign for men of all ages. On the course, golfers were invited to participate in a longest drive contest wearing a 20-pound weight vest, as well as wear special glasses replicating eye conditions such as glaucoma, detached retina, macular degeneration, and more on the practice green. Also included on the course were a grip strength contest, portion distortion contest, and a rethink-your-drink contest. Each activity was presented specifically to provide players an opportunity to think about their current lifestyle choices. For more information, check out
