Fire totals Cowboy Jack’s [UPDATED]
[UPDATE] Madison fire officials have estimated the cost of a fire at Cowboy Jack’s to be $2.8 million, according to a Wisconsin State Journal update. A cause is still unknown, and an active investigation continues. The restaurant was a complete loss.
An early-morning fire gutted Cowboy Jack’s restaurant at 2162 John Q Hammons Drive on Sept. 18, according to earlier reports.
Authorities say firefighters were called to the restaurant, formerly Sprecher’s, on Madison’s west side at about 3:30 a.m. and the building was already engulfed in flames. The building was not equipped with an automatic sprinkler system, according to a report from channel3000.com.
The restaurant, a Minnesota-based franchise, had only been open since October 2018.
