During their May session, Leadership Greater Madison 24 members learned about the challenges veterans face when they transition from the military to civilian life; explored the heroism and contributions of Wisconsin veterans with a visit to the Wisconsin Veterans’ Museum; had the opportunity to talk with novelist Erin Celello about her novel Learning to Stay (about a couple dealing with PTSD); explored the roles of alders and the media, and wrapped up the day participating in a mock city council meeting.
