Exact Sciences to lay off 230
Exact Sciences notified 230 workers that their positions were being eliminated, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report. Of those workers, 50 are based in Madison, but lab and international staff members were not affected by the layoffs. The company says the move is in reaction to the need to prioritize programs with the greatest impact on improving cancer care. Laid-off employees were offered a severance package and outplacement services, and they are encouraged to apply for other open positions within the company.
