Eurofins looks to build near Truax

Eurofins Scientific purchased the Covance Food Solutions unit from Covance-parent LabCorp last summer for a reported $670 million in cash. Now Eurofins has announced a plan to build a $35 million, 100,000-square-foot lab and office building on almost 23 acres of city-owned land in the Center for Industry and Commerce business park near Truax Field, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.

The food solutions division has since been renamed Eurofins Food Integrity and Innovation, and is on track to produce $160 million in revenue in 2018. Eurofins employs about 400 workers in the food unit locally and plans to add another 100 over the next four years. Anticipated opening, if all is approved, is early 2021.
