Driftless Social opens in Mount Horeb

After 16 months of work, brothers Matt and Tim Schmock, are opening the bar at Driftless Social at 128 E. Main St. in Mount Horeb, but they won’t be able to serve food until the kitchen is complete in another couple months, according to a report from the Wisconsin State Journal.

Driftless will initially be open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights for drinks, with 23 martinis on the menu and about 20 wines. Until the kitchen is ready, Driftless will make do with a popcorn machine.

Matt Schmock previously ran the Smoky’s supper club and steakhouse on University Avenue in Madison for his father and uncle for about six years, until it closed earlier this year for redevelopment.
