DPI issues guidance on students returning to schools
The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, in collaboration with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS), has issued Education Forward, a guidance document for Wisconsin school district leaders to use as they plan for a return to in-person instruction for the 2020-21 school year.
Recommendations include infection control and mitigation, sample learning scenarios, and specific considerations for special education students. A risk assessment tool and a school nurse toolkit are also included.
While the guidance is aimed at supporting schools through reopening, specific recommendations will be regularly updated in consultation with education stakeholders and the DHS to provide new information and address changing conditions to support school operations.
