Downtown AnchorBank project gets TIF

A $99 million proposed makeover of the AnchorBank building on the Capitol Square was bolstered Tuesday when the Board of Estimates instructed city staff to negotiate final terms of a $13.3 million TIF loan to be used mostly for underground parking.

The project, proposed by Urban Land Interests, calls for modernizing and expanding the bank building to add retail space and a landscaped rooftop. Additionally, an old parking garage at the corner of South Carroll and West Doty streets would be replaced by underground parking topped by a nine-story mixed-use building that would also offer both retail and residential space.
