Door County Candle Company raises over $1M in donations to Ukraine

The Wisconsin State Journal reports that Door County Candle Company has surpassed $1 million in donations to benefit the people of Ukraine.

The company, led by Christiana Trapani, has sold over 100,000 blue and yellow candles since the start of the war in February 2022, with candle profits going to Razom, a nonprofit formed in 2014 to help the people of Ukraine. Proceeds are put toward the purchase of medical supplies and generators as well as evacuation assistance for families.

Trapani will meet with legislators in Madison and speak at the Capitol today regarding her campaign.

She plans to continue the candle sales as a mainstay of her business even following the war’s conclusion in order to help Ukraine rebuild.
