Despite investment growth, state lags

In 2013, venture investors pumped $91.55 million into Wisconsin companies. By 2018, that number had tripled, to $287.12 million.

However, the state falls well behind other Midwestern states, according to a story in the Wisconsin State Journal. In 2018, Indiana companies received more than $375 million from investors, in Michigan, more than $475 million was invested, and Minnesota investors supported businesses to the tune of $813 million, according to the National Venture Capital Association.
