Date, grand marshal set for Madison’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Pat Gallagher, a local radio talent, will serve as the grand marshal of the 23rd annual Madison St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which will take place at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 12 on the Capitol Square.
Prior to his current role as morning host on 106.7 WRIS The Resistance, Gallagher spent 27 years working on-air at 92.1 WMAD (1986–1992) and 105.5 Triple M (1992–2013). The Madison native also has served as the emcee of the parade in the past.
At noon on the day of the parade, the Dane County Shamrock Club will raise an Irish flag in the Capitol Rotunda. That will be followed by a raffle drawing at the corner of Wisconsin Avenue and Mifflin Street at 1:20 p.m.
Like past years, the free event will traverse counterclockwise around the Capitol Square, exiting at East Washington Ave. Proceeds will benefit the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center, Gigi’s Playhouse-Madison, and Logan’s Heart and Smiles.
