Dane manure digester purchased by California company

San Francisco-based Brightmark Energy has purchased a local anaerobic digester and will use it to convert dairy waste into biogas, according to an article in the Wisconsin State Journal.

Brightmark Energy, is a waste and energy company, purchased the digester from Clean Fuel Partners in the Village of Dane, where the digester is located. It converts manure from dairy farms into biogas, which is considered better for the environment than natural gas.

Brightmark says the digester will convert 90,000 gallons of dairy waste per day into biogas that can be used for heating, electricity, and fuel for vehicles. Clean Fuel Partners will continue to provide operations and maintenance support for the digester.
