Dane County reaches record level for COVID-19 hospitalizations

Dane County COVID-19 hospitalizations reached a record level with a total of 47 people hospitalized on Oct. 4, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report. The previous record was set in early April with 46 hospitalizations.

Hospitalizations in the state reached 714, nearly 2.5 times the number last month. Hospitals in some places are transferring patients to other facilities. Early in the pandemic, the state Department of Health Services had designated Alliant Energy Center as an overflow facility.
