Dane County home sales slip, median price rises
Dane County home sales dropped in May compared to May 2015, but that could be due to the low number of active listings in this hotter-than-hot seller’s market where the active inventory stands at just 2.23 months.
A six-month supply generally indicates a balanced market.
According to the South Central Wisconsin MLS, sales slipped 8.3% year to year in May, with 842 sales versus 918 last year.
The median sale price increased from $230,00 a year ago to $236,400.
At the end of May, SCWMLS reported 1,492 active listings in the county compared to 1,941 in May 2015, and 2,567 in 2014.
