Dane County home sales continue to fluctuate

The Realtors Association of South Central Wisconsin (RASCW) reports that sales of single-family homes and condominiums numbered 820 in August, which is 7.3 percent lower than August 2018, when there were 885 sales.

Inventory remains low, and the median home price in Dane County rose 6.8 percent to $300,000, up from $281,000 a year ago.

There is good news for those looking to purchase a home: As of Sept. 12, Freddie Mac reported a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage to be 3.56 percent, down from 4.6 percent a year ago.
