Dane County cities among lowest is state jobless rate

Madison, Fitchburg, and Sun Prairie tied for the lowest April unemployment rate among the 32 largest Wisconsin communities, at 2.9%, according to preliminary data released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the state Department of Workforce Development.

Dane County also had the lowest rate in the state for April at 2.9%, a Wisconsin State Journal report said, compared to 3.6% in March and 3.7% in April 2014.

Wisconsin’s April rate was 4.4%, while the national rate was 5.4%.
