Cuba City’s largest employer closes
Wausaukee Composites, Cuba City’s largest employer, closed its 40,000-sq.-ft. facility, leaving 33 workers without jobs and forcing three employees to relocate to the company’s Wausaukee, Wis., plant. A parts manufacturer for the wind turbine industry, the company cited federal tax law changes and decreased investment in the wind energy industry as factors in the decision. The plant had been in a temporary shutdown mode since June 14. Cuba City officials hope to find a buyer for the vacated plant within a year.
