County invests another $6 million in men’s homeless shelter

Dane County and the city of Madison announced an additional $6 million investment for the east side men’s homeless shelter to be built in 2024. The 40,000-square-foot facility, to be located at 1902 Bartillon Drive, will have space for 200 people. The county’s 2023 budget includes $6 million in support for the project, which is in addition to the $3 million the county already committed. Congressman Mark Pocan has secured a $2 million federal grant and the city of Madison has allocated $10 million for the shelter.
