Council denies liquor license for convenience store

The Madison City Council voted a second time to deny an alcohol license for a Stop-N-Go convenience store owned by Kwik Trip in Schenk’s Corners, according to a Capital Times report.

Alders voting against the license argue the store, at 2002 Winnebago St., is located close to schools and day cares, and they question whether the store will benefit the welfare and safety of the community. The city’s Alcohol License Review Committee unanimously supported the license.
