Could Truman-Olson project be rebid?
Welton Enterprises has told the city of Madison to seek new requests for proposals if it can’t come to agreement on the 3.5-acre Truman Olson mixed-use development on Park Street.
According to a Wisconsin State Journal story, Welton and city staffers have been at odds over the developer’s proposed plan, which staffers argue is missing some design standards and would require too much public support ($775,000 in TIF).
If the city elects to re-bid the project, the developer would likely resubmit plans. If it comes to that, the Madison City Council would need to approve the call for new RFPs.
