Clouds gathering for Visions
A recent shooting and stabbing at Visions Night Club at 3554 E. Washington Ave. has Madison Ald. David Ahrens, who represents the 15th District, calling Madison’s only strip club a “blight on the neighborhood,” citing an increase in crime, prostitution, and drug dealing in the neighborhood, according to a story in the Wisconsin State Journal. The attack left four people injured and the suspect stabbed. Two suspects have now been arrested.
Visions has been on East Washington Avenue in Madison for more than 40 years. Current zoning laws do not allow a strip club in the city of Madison, but the business was grandfathered early in its history. More recently, 911 calls have increased.
Earlier this week, a new Kwik Trip across the street from the nightclub announced it would no longer be open 24 hours due to safety concerns. Kwik Trip will close at 10 p.m. through Christmas, and then at midnight thereafter.
