City enacts temporary restraining order against Lush following fatal shooting

The city of Madison enacted a temporary restraining order Tuesday against night spot Lush at 3765 E. Washington Ave. following the fatal shooting of Raheem Blue, 32, on May 21 outside an event there, WKOW reports. Blue’s homicide is still unsolved.

The order comes in response to multiple additional factors, including:

  • Operators of Lush serving alcohol at events without a liquor license;
  • Operators charging admission fees despite Lush being an invited-guests-only reception hall; and
  • Lush advertising private party events via social media.

Police, who have been called to the location many times since its opening, will respond if Lush is found in violation of its restraining order and will enforce the closure of the establishment. Lush could also face eviction by its property manager on the grounds of excessive police calls to the location.
