City approves $125 million ULI project

The Madison City Council unanimously approved zoning changes for the Urban Land Interest Capitol Square redevelopment proposal that will preserve part of the American Exchange building on the Square, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report.

The $125 million project that will redevelop the block bordered by East Washington Avenue, North Pinckney, East Mifflin, and North Webster streets was opposed by Eno Vino due to the project partially blocking the restaurant’s view of the Capitol. The project will still need approval from the Urban Design Commission.
