Chr. Hansen announces groundbreaking for Windsor expansion project

Global bioscience company Chr. Hansen is set to begin construction on an addition to its Human Health facility in Windsor, according to a recent media advisory. This is against the backdrop of reinforced consumer focus on health as well as growing awareness of the importance of a healthy gut microbiome and probiotics.

The expansion involves a full additional fermentation line to the company’s production floor, resulting in doubling the output capacity over a three-year period. The products that are produced at this location are distributed across the U.S., as well as exported across the world.

The expansion project includes an extension of the on-site retention pond around already-established solar panels. Furthermore, it is designed to keep Madison-area lakes clean, including native plants and grasses to increase biodiversity.

The groundbreaking event will take place Tuesday, May 2 from 2:30–3:30 p.m. at the Chr. Hansen Windsor facility at 4375 Duraform Lane.
