Chocolate Shoppe expands
The Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream Co. has doubled the size of the company’s facility at 2221 Daniels St. with a $5 million expansion, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report. The 60-year-old company now will produce its base mix at the plant, rather than having other manufacturers like the Galloway Co. in Neenah and Schoep’s Ice Cream in Madison make it for them. The Chocolate Shoppe mix serves at the base for scores of ice cream flavors trucked to Chocolate Shoppe stores, Madison-area grocery retailers, and about 250 ice cream shops around the country.
