Cellular Dynamics nabs major contract with Roche

Madison-based Cellular Dynamics International has landed a sizable new contract with Swiss pharmaceutical company Roche to supply its stem cell products. According to the Wisconsin State Journal, the contract could bring more than $80 million to CDI and create more than a dozen jobs.

Roche will use “CDI’s induced pluripotent stem cells — taken from a sample of blood, turned back into an embryonic state and then reprogrammed into virtually any cell type in the human body — to identify new drug candidates,” the State Journal reports.
