Businesses receive citations but are not linked to outbreaks

While current COVID-19 outbreaks continue to be linked to assisted living and skilled nursing facilities, the majority of warnings for violations of public health orders are targeting businesses, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report.

More than 600 warning letters have been sent in the past four months, but citations — ranging from $263.50 to $376 — have almost exclusively been issued to businesses. From mid-July to early November, 46 citations were issued to 36 businesses and one school, and of the 46 sites that received visits from Public Health officials in October and November, 45 were businesses.
