Burrill contest canceled in 2016

The G. Steven Burrill Business Plan Competition has been called off for 2016, citing “budgetary constraints,” according to a notice on the contest’s website.

A highlight of the UW–Madison’s School of Business for 18 years, the Burrill contest has produced some noteworthy winners, among them Virent Energy Systems and EatStreet.

Burrill’s website notes the contest has just been “suspended,” and organizers told the Wisconsin State Journal that they hope to use the time off to re-envision the contest.
