Building supply company donates $1.5 million to youth program

Drexel Building Supply has donated $1.5 million to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County and Madison Area Builders Association (MABA) Skilled Trades Center, according to a release from MABA. The MABA Skilled Trade Center is part of the McKenzie Regional Workforce Center and offers programs to middle and high school students to build awareness of construction trades. Older students will be eligible for paid internships and on-site construction work as they progress through the Skilled Trades Center program. Upon graduating from the program, participants will be in line for area skilled trades roles, many of which begin with wages exceeding $18 an hour. Drexel Building Supply is a provider of building materials and services in Wisconsin and a MABA member.
