Building permits fall

The number of building permits for single-family homes and duplexes in Dane County dropped 8.2% in May compared to May of last year. According to MTD Marketing Services of Menasha, the number of permits fell from 97 in May 2013 to 89 this year. Year-to-date through May, however, permits are outpacing 2013 numbers for the same period by 1.2%. January through May of 2013 saw 407 permits issued, while 412 were issued this year.
