Building Monona

The Monona East Side Business Alliance presented Build Monona on July 12 at The East Side Club. New information regarding the project details of the Yahara Riverfront master plan was presented and discussed. The redevelopment is envisioned as an urban waterfront destination serving as a year-round gathering place and recreational trailhead, focused on active healthy lifestyles in a village-like setting. The concept plan shows three potential development zones to be completed in phases, with varying levels of residential, office, retail, and lodging opportunities. New public spaces include a waterfront plaza that unifies the private development spaces, a bike trail and multi-modal hub, waterfront promenade, and new street with pedestrian-friendly amenities.
