Boys & Girls Club receives $100,000 Ascendium grant

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County has been awarded a $100,000 Ascendium Good Neighbor Grant, according to a release from Ascendium Education Group. The organization will use the funding to support the operating costs of its Advancement via Individual Determination/Teens of Promise Program (AVID/TOPS). The AVID/TOPS program is a partnership between the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County and the Madison Metropolitan School District providing a rigorous college and career preparatory program for students from low-income backgrounds, students of color, and aspiring first-generation college students. The nonprofit Ascendium Education Group funds initiatives nationwide that help learners from low-income backgrounds achieve upward mobility.
