Bob Oyler sells Capital City Harley-Davidson

After 11 years of ownership, Bob Oyler has announced that he is selling Capital City Harley-Davidson and retiring from the motorcycle business as of April 1. Oyler is selling the dealership to Terry and Josh Doughty, a father-and-son management team that has owned Harley-Davidson of Appleton since 1980.

Terms of the transaction were not announced, but Josh Doughty, who will be the operations manager for the Madison location, told the Wisconsin State Journal that plans are to maintain the current staff and perhaps add to it. Under new ownership, the Madison store, located at 6200 Millpond Road, will be renamed Badger Harley-Davidson.

Oyler has owned the dealership since 2002, when he bought out the ownership share of Al and Mary Decker and moved Capital City Harley-Davidson to its current location.
