Belleville bar standoff results in surrender

A domestic altercation and several shots fired resulted in the evacuation of five apartments above the Dam Bar & Grill at 3 East Main St. in downtown Belleville Saturday morning, as reported in the Wisconsin State Journal.

Police say a woman broke into the bar after an initial altercation and fired multiple shots; they were called to the scene around 2 a.m. Deputies, the Sheriff’s Office Tactical Response Team and Crisis Negotiation Team, Belleville police, and an armored rescue vehicle from the Madison Police Department remained on-scene until around 10:20 a.m. when the woman surrendered and was taken into custody.

The bar remained closed Saturday. Details regarding the identity of the woman and location of the domestic incident have not yet been released.
