Beer, wine flows at Taco Bell Cantina

The Madison City Council approved a measure to allow Taco Bell Cantina, 534 State St., a liquor license to sell beer and wine, according to media reports. Taco Bell should be receiving its license within 15 days.

The agreement requires that the restaurant must stop serving alcohol at 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays, and 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Former Mayor Paul Soglin was against the plan, and vetoed it, which prompted lawsuits over the past year. New Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway and two council members introduced the settlement agreement in April, saying individual restaurants shouldn’t be singled out.
