Area nonprofits to share solar money

RENEW Wisconsin has selected 15 nonprofits around the state to share in grants to install solar electric systems.

The grants, part of RENEW Wisconsin’s Solar For Good program, total $145,000 and will fund 10% to 20% of each organization’s project, according to a release.

Four organizations in Dane County made the list: First Unitarian Society of Madison; Memorial United Church of Christ in Fitchburg; Middleton Outreach Ministry; and VFW Post 8483. Two groups remain anonymous.
