Area home sales still hot

May 2013 sales of single-family homes in Dane County were 41% ahead of May 2012, but condo sales really continue to surge, running 67% ahead of last year, according to the South Central Wisconsin MLS. Dane County’s monthly median sale price dropped from $211,000 to $205,000. Year-to-date through May, the median price for single-family homes was $218,000, compared to $214,800 in 2012. Active inventory was nearly cut in half from a year ago and now stands at about four and a half months for single-family homes and seven months for condominiums.
