Appeals court rules in favor of video poker

The Chicago-based U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit overruled a 2014 decision from U.S. District Judge Barbara Crabb that refused to allow the Ho-Chunk Nation to offer video gaming in its Madison casino.

The appeals court decision stated that because Wisconsin does not ban the game for everyone, federal law dictates it can’t be denied to the Ho-Chunk.

Ho-Chunk Gaming Madison has offered video poker since 2010, despite state objections.
