American Girl cuts another 22 jobs in Middleton

As part of a significant global workforce reduction by parent company Mattel, American Girl has cut 22 more jobs in Middleton, according to a story in the Wisconsin State Journal.

Mattel, whose second quarter earnings were down 14% from the same quarter in 2017, plans to cut more than 2,200 jobs worldwide. The closing of Toys “R” Us stores was cited as the main factor.

The local job cuts reportedly were across every level of American Girl, and they represent 1% of the company’s total workforce.
