American Family must pay $20M in discrimination suit

A former American Family Insurance manager in Missouri won $20 million in punitive damages and an additional $450,000 in actual damages from American Family Insurance.

The former “award-winning” sales manager, age 60, charged the company with age and sex discrimination stemming back to a corporate reorganization that led to her removal. She remains an agent with the company.

American Family strongly disagrees with the decision, according to an Associated Press article.
