AIDS Network to merge with Milwaukee group
Madison’s AIDS Network will merge with the Milwaukee-based AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin on Feb. 1. The AIDS Network has 25 employees and a $1.7 million budget, compared to the Milwaukee group’s 175 employees and $51 million budget. Dan Guinn, executive director of the AIDS Network, will become vice president and general counsel for the AIDS Resource Center.
The merger affects AIDS Network offices in Madison and Beloit. Meanwhile, the AIDS Resource Center will close its Madison location, but seven other offices around the state will remain open. A clinic and pharmacy specializing in HIV/AIDS will be added to the Madison location on Williamson Street. Mike Gifford is president and CEO of the AIDS Resource Center.
